Hi all,
Juat wondering if the stone chips issue is still present with the M models and the M sport package modles of the X6 and X5? if yes, is there a solution from BMW? I know some recommend the clear film treatment, where to apply and how thick of a film? any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm interested in that info too... (Dealer says there is no official clear film available from BMW for the 2013 X6M yet). Thanks for posting this question! I look forward to any info others can provide...

This topic had been beaten to death and a simple forum search will show you that you need 3M applied to the flares, rockers and lower half of doors or you will end up with massive sandblasting.

BMW have not addressed this and may offer wear and tear warranty but I'm but 100% on this.

Many people have suffered issues...mudlaps are fugly and don't help either.

Sorry for being so blunt but this has been discussed 100 times in other

northern2020, thanks for the info. I see that you drive an X5M - if you don't mind advising us on protective film specifics to use, i.e. thickness of film, brand and other info you deem beneficial...your help is greatly appreciated.

I believe the stone chip issue was only with the X5 M sport and X5M. I have not seen anyone report this type of issue here - I personally don't have it but maybe because I have 19s" ?
