Next time I think I'll find a cool dealer (no matter where they are located) who does a lot of the PDC and order from them. I've now bought 2 other cars for my business (not BMW) from a dealer in Nebraska and he ships them to me right from the factory. So much easier that way and he wants to move volume so doesn't mind giving a great discount.
Do you think I should try your dealer in Nebraska for PDC? Now that I don't have a trade, I could go to any dealer. Sounds promising!

I would like to know if active steering makes the wheel easier to turn in the parking lot. Ithink it is too stiff right now. I know it shortens how much you turn the wheel but is it still stiff?

Jumboloan: definitely so. I loved the active steering in the 2012 I test drove. It's like butter compared to my 35i without it.

Agreed. While this doesn't make sense....It makes a HUGE difference on the X5, and a smaller difference on the X6. However, it is almost impossible to find a car to drive with it since it is a priority 1 option and dealers are not allowed to order it for a car that is not for a customer. I finally found a used X6 with AS and drove it and was sold. Not only made the steering easier but much more enjoyable.

Note that AS does not always make the steering easier. I drove a 2006 550 back to back with AS and without AS and could not tell the difference. I do hear it makes a big diff on the 3 series (in terms of ease of turning) and as pointed out, also makes a difference on the X5/X6.
