What would you do after 5 months of warning lights on new X6
Hi there. I bought a new X6 around September last year and ever since have had an intermittent fault. Warning lights come on saying XDrive and DSC failure and sometime some of the other traction related controls. The message says drive carefully and it always resets itself when I turn off the vehicle and drive off again. It happens quite often, but the BMW service team haven't been able to fix it. They have replaced some parts, checked all the wiring and I'm no further ahead. Im concerned at driving the vehicle without knowing if the traction controls are working or not. I don't want to have to wait indefinitely as they go through replacing one part at a time (there are a lot of parts in the vehicle!).
When can I say to the dealer just take the vehicle back and give me a new one? Much easier getting a toaster replaced than a new car. Thanks for any suggestions or similar experiences. |

Thanks guys. Has any one else had experiences getting a replacement vehicle?
I must be unlucky with cars because I had a faulty V10 M5 that couldn't be fixed and was replaced eventually, but it was hard work to get them to do it! |

Got my X6 delivered 3 weeks ago. Next day had similar error messages. By the time l got to the dealership next morning, errors were gone. they found a problem with the wheel sensor, fixed it, all good after that.

Just heard from the dealer today. They had replaced a part by the steering column earlier to fix it and we're surprised it didn't work. Say they now have at last identified the fault to something in that area that'wakes up' when you get in the car (sorry haven't got the technical details yet). Sounds promising, now wait a couple of weeks for more parts to come from Germany. They've given me a brand new seven series to drive in the meantime, so not so bad. Will report back.

Tough one for sure. Hopefully this next fix will be the last. If not, recommend getting BMW AG involved, may be able to work a buy back (if they do that in NZ?). Good luck.
