The rallye show is next Sunday, one of my favorite shows of the year. Anyone thinking about going?
2 kits cost me around $270 from Turner. I'd like to hear what your exhaust sounds like, i was actually looking into cutouts. Where is the rallye show? I actually just registered for Bimmerfest East at Raceway Park in Jersey
That's not terrible, the lights seem to make a huge difference. I'll look into them. The show is at rallye in Jericho. I'll put the address at the bottom if you would like to map it out. I really do like the cutout. The fact that I can have it opened and just as easily closed is really nice. It's not the nicest sounding exhaust ever but for the money I think it's great. From stock to a much louder, deeper at lows and screams, gargles and pops at higher Rpms. I'll be registering for bimmerfest sometime today. Thanks for the heads up.

Trust me the LED bulbs are 100x brighter than the stock bulbs, they give off a nice bright white light so you can actually see what your looking for a night time. I like the idea of cutouts so it doesn't annoy my neighbors and that i can push the loud button when appropriate. I'll try to make the rallye show this Sunday

I know it's probably not going to be much louder (without dp's) than the OEM system I have now with the exhaust valves permanently open, but I may put the dp's on hold for a little while since my daughters still only 16 months old and the gaseous odor they will create

Just preference. I ordered silver but they were out of stock so i agreed to the burnt tip variant. It looked good but i like the clean look for the polished tips.

I thought maybe you didn't like the sound or something, I may return it for the burnt tip instead

You just saved me the aggravation of lugging that box to the post office. I actually have my torch in my bathroom from re-soldering a broken pipe, i'll have those tips burnt today since it's so easy

I gave them a call and was told NOT to attempt this on my own as it can affect my warranty, also for an additional $30 i can just upgrade to the burnt tip exhaust. Lol, i'll be burning them later tonight or tomorrow

Before having them painted follow my DIY here.;

Should be very easy, if you don't like it you can still have them professionally painted.

That came out real nice, i wasn't sure if i should use Duplicolor spray paint or brush it on. I was quoted $600 to powder coat all 4 which is crazy, is the Duplicolor paint holding up?

Its VHT paint, it's holding up perfectly. You want to spray the calipers with short, light strokes. Its very simple. Let it dry for 2 hours after 3 or 4 coats then apply the stickers, then clear coat. Impossible to mess up. EDIT; Couldn't find any negatives on powdercoating.

Also keep in mind you can go with the Brembo sticker as the brakes are made by Brembo.

I'm going to order the blue paint but i just noticed they sent me the stickers in black instead of a white M...maybe i'll try another color. Powdercoating looks nice but i'm not spending $600 on an easy DIY project...as for the Brembo stickers, i'll wait till i buy the BBK 1 day. Thanks again

We already have a 15.5 inch 4 piston fixed caliper Brembo BBK up front, no need to upgrade. I might however upgrade the rears to 4 pistons but it would be totally unnecessary performance-wise.. it just that the rear brakes are so damn ugly.

The 6 piston upgraded Brembo BBK available for our car are on slightly larger (in diameter but thinner) drilled rotors. That being said, I cant see it being much of an upgrade over the 4 piston Brembos that come on the car unless you are doing extensive tracking and even then, i don't think it's worth the price of admission at $5k.

$600 is crazy lol. You're going to be astonished with how easy and nice the paint comes out

Hers a link to the stickers i purchase
