Soft close doors
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a quick and easy way to disable the soft close doors feature without it leading to a problem? (unplug a fuse?) I've had lots of cars and none have ever had this feature, personally I think it's kind of silly to close the door like an old lady... I'm use to slamming my doors shut... In my 25yrs of driving this is an annoying new habit I'm not looking forward to getting use to...any insight is appreciated

Even when i don't understand why you should slam your doors when you have SC you can slam it when the SC is enabled, no problem for it..

I should rephrase myself...I don't really slam the doors shut, I close them hard enough to make sure they close, also I was under the impression that if slammed or shut hard enough it could damage the SC feature that's why I've been closing them extra soft

It was 1 of the features besides rear entertainment I really didn't want when I was searching for the truck, but I must of missed it when I ran the vin(LK27042)...I don't know maybe it's just me, but I feel like it's another problem bound to happen if I accidentally shut the door too hard 1 day. If it were that easy to remove the SC feature I would gladly trade you, it drives me crazy

It makes my buddy that doesn't have them on his X5M jealous! |

Love the soft close doors. Wish this were an option on more vehicles generally. Recently, I was really surprised when I rented a 740 from AVIS when the sedan didn't have this feature included. It was a real let down.

I've actually heard of a lot of guys that don't like it, for the pinching situation, as well as just other reasons. I still want them, even with two small kids. If anything, I think it'll help preserve the already crappy interior fit n finish, hopefully the lack of continued banging on the truck from the doors will prevent rattles and squeaks until a little later... But, that's just my thoughts...
I've also heard of a guy retrofitting this onto an E90 M3. Something else I would love to do. I love the feature, only used it once while picking up a 750Li from the tint shop. Still, amazing though.

I normally wouldn't care about the SC feature. But the one scenario I have found where it is worth its weight in gold is if you have little kids that are napping in the back on longer trips, they would commonly wake up when I got out of the car to fill up the gas tank.
With the SC doors, I haven't woken them up yet. If you have little ones you know this is Priceless.
