You leave EDC in normal or off? Instead of Sport? I always thought Sport was the fastest.
I might have to make a few test passes and see. I assume you are stilll using LC and letting it shift by itself?

There is another thread talking about how to remove the carbon filter, which someone there claims may add an additional 10hp's... Might be a quick mod option for you...

Leave it it normal for the weight transfer. Ive used both settings multiple time and consistently get better launches with it in normal. Sport just means the suspension is stiffer and doesnt allow weight transfer front to back as well. Always use launch control.

I want to get out if our track ever opens....it has snowed everyday this week :-( I have a tune and OEM gutted down pipes. Our track is fairly high altitude at 3,000ft with DA over 4,000 often so I won't set the world on fire with my times..

OT but did you ever report back if the OEM gutted downpipes are just as good as aftermarket ones?

you've got that one right, it only comes back from that position automatically when you park and apply 'inadvertently in my case' parking brake

Castrol Raceway, I would love to go to Mission (sea level) in BC but it's a long drive for a couple 12second passes.

Hi, resurrecting this thread - we're going to be taking our X5M to the track this year, with my wife behind the wheel! The car should be here by the 27th, and that happens to be a Test & Tune night at our local track. When we bought our Cayenne a few years ago, I had it at the track within 24 hours of owning it, so maybe I can start a tradition.
I would love to hear what times you guys have run over the past few years - jimshorts, I see in your sig your times with just the Eurocharged tune, very nice! If I'm reading right you picked up about half a second? Sylvan Lake, with you at some good degree of altitude, I would love to hear how your truck fares. We're going to be racing at Bandimere - 5800 ft above sea level, and DAs frequently between 8-9000 ft- so gathering some data as to how these trucks do at altitude would be wonderful, and also how much more beyond a tune they pick up with downpipes. Thanks! |

Went to the drag strip for the first time on Friday night. It was definitely a good time with good weather. Made 4 runs, tried to do launch control the first 2 times but couldn't time it right so I need more practice. I gave up the last 2 runs and just put the car in auto park and just floored the gas..lol..best time 13.07@108. Wonder how much time I would cut off with launch control. Can't wait to do it again.

Any mods done? Launch control would definitely help with your 60' and also holding RPM/shifting quicker. Not bad for your first time out though.

Good runs I've seen so far. I want to get my X up to the track soon but want to let this Florida heat calm a little. My last car ran 10.7s so no matter what state of tune, the X won't be as fast but even a 12 sec 5k suv is fast as heck! |
