Mystery Problem
For about the last 3 weeks there have been strange things going on with my 2009 X6 50i. About every other day when I start it in the morning I have to
reset my clock, turn the radio back on , and trip odometer is at 0000.0. Also my locks are not working properly. I have an appointment for Friday but I am just curious if anyone else has experienced these symptoms. Thanks for any response you might offer.

My guess is you need a battery, or have a electrical draw pulling the battery down. Radar detector or other accessory left on ??? I had similar problem and new battery fixed it. Good Luck

That is not a mystery problem that come standard for 09 X6. Same here, have replace a new battery. My comfort access still don't work well. According to BMW something is drawing electrical something which they cant even tell, so in time to come I believe the problem will come again. When the battery is down to a certain level it will start shutting down certain function. I was advice to place the key far away when washing my car. Because every time when it open through comfort access through contacting with your car it is drawing 20 to 30amp of current.

The symptoms sound like the original wrong battery problem but I'm sure BMW has rectified that issue by now.
Your dealer should know what to check, good luck. |

I just experienced this a few weeks ago. Date and clock needed to be reset each time then I started getting a message with 'Excessive Battery Discharge'. They replaced the battery but that did not solve it. A 16 hour software upgrade seems to have fixed it.

I assume that you had Baron do it? By 16 hours, do you mean that they had it on a computer for 16 hours? Thanks, Don
