Small Door in Passenger Foot Well?
Here's a random question for the day... While investigating an infuriating dash rattle I still can't track down, I came across a small plastic door in the dash of front passenger foot well area of my X6. When I open the door (it just unsnaps), there's a relay-looking thing that joins two long wires. Pretty unremarkable, I guess, but one of my wires has masking tape on it with jibberish handwriting. I picked my X6 up from the factory in Spartanburg, SC, a couple of months ago, so I find it strange that masking tape is a factory accessory. Any ideas on what the relay is for, or why I might have this mysterious masking tape? I've tried the BMW part numbers that I can read off the relay and door at www.bmwfans.info and gotten nothing. Thanks.

Funny youu posted this today.....my X6 is at the dealer right now because that door keeps falling down into the passenger footwell. I will ask what its for today when I pick it up and advise of there response. I never looked to see if I have the masking tape.
