Thumbs up New guy sign up.

Hello,Im a owner of X5M where Im in China.
I also experienced some problems that discussed in the forum such as Braking squeal and Battery drain etc. I thought those problems were discrimination by BMW. Can u guys guess how much the X5M costs in China?
It must be astonished to you.
But i can be relax now, even still annoyed by the squeal. And the Battery drain has solved by chaged whole night at dealer.
And I changed its exhasut to AK. Its awesome.
Nice to join.

And I also wanna know hom often should I change oil & sparkling plug? The dealer recommend 5000 KM for changing oil & plugs. However,it is suspicious.
Its rpm is not as high as M3,even the gasoline quality in China is poor(most cities have no ron 98).

Duke there is a separate thread for oil changing you might want to look at but if your gasoline is THAT bad our thread may not be a good idea to follow for oil service. 5,000 miles seems to be a popular number in the States. I dont know anyone who changes spark plugs at 5,000 miles. But again, bad gasoline is a very bad thing for High Performance engine. M3 engine isnt that far off the X5M in terms of service requirements although the recommended oil viscosity is higher at the top end. Good luck.

And bye the way, did you mean $31,000 US$ or $310,000 US$. The difference is significant!

Enjoy the vehicle!

Im so ashame on myself,It is $310,000 ,otherwise how could I say u r lucky, cause the tariffe almost 100 % and other charges. And the options are also limited ,cause most options have became standarded, which means the basic configurations are higher than other market , therefore, the BMW and Dealers can earn more money.
This is what I said discrimination.
About oil changes, the unit which we uses is "KM" and not miles,so,its huge difference.
I searched long time , the BMW recommends X5M to change oil for 12,000KM which around 7,500 miles and change plugs for 48,000KM which equals 30,000.
Thanks Thinkkkker, the gasoline is key, so I add additives regularly.
