Help! Reduced Power Engine malfunction

2008 BMW X6 35i

I'm on the road moving from WA to AL. I had routine maintenance done about a month ago. Now getting on the high way I get the reduced power malfunction around 2.5 rpm. The rpm will spike. The car will eventually get up to 80 and drive normal. It's the weekend and all dealers are closed. Does anyone know if it's safe to drive to AL? Should I use a fuel additive?
Thanks in advance!

Mine did this. Ultimately it needed a dealer visit, but I could use the "German car reset" to get rid of the limit.

Stop. Turn off car. Open and close door.

Restart engine, and off you go

Mine did the same thing....it was the high pressure fuel pump. Turning car on and off worked for a while. Also occurred under hard acceleration, you might want to tread lightly until you can get it in. Best, Brian
