Gutted factory downpipes vs. VRSF downpipes

Hello, i have a 2010 x5m. just recently got a tune and once a few things are sorted, i would like to do down pipes. is there any significant power difference between going with the aftermarket ones and gutting the material out of the stock down pipes? how about sound difference? Here's a couple pictures, just joined the forum.

Garage List
I tried having VRSF downpipes installed and they would not line up correctly. Went with gutted downpipes since we we there already. Cant tell you what the difference would be. Best time to date on dragy on street is 12.65@109.22 MPH

Vrsf doesn't line up properly.
Better solution is active autowerke, more money but better fitment
Best solution is to go 300 cell sport catted pipes, but most expensive.
Cheapest solution is knock down your stock cats.
Btw you'll have gas smell from exhaust unless you go catted.

I have the Velos downpipes and couldn't be happier. Excellent fit and performance.
I wouldn't recommend gutting out your stockers, simply because you may want to reinstall them someday, to pass emissions, etc.
Cheers

I got them with the tune/ downpipes promo deal a few years ago.
I may have a pic where I had to remove them to pass the sniffer test 😃
