To buy or not to buy 2013 X5M??

Hi, I'm thinking about picking up a 2013 X5M from Carmax. It's $50k for a 1-owner with 11,090 miles. Black on black, doesn't have everything but still heavily optioned. Just curious if anyone has an opinion on whether or not I'd be a fool to buy or not buy. I'd be getting the 5-yr 75k warranty with it as well. any thoughts are welcomed. Thanks.

$50K seems high to me, even though it's a 2013 with low miles.

With low miles and a warranty I don't think you're a fool at all, I'd just review the price inline with other 2013's, maybe it's in the ballpark.

Sounds nice! Does it have the LED headlights?

Awesome - those LED headlights look so good on the 2013's optioned with them (or retro-fitted like so many have done here).

Even at $50K, that's $30K less than the average 2015 F85 X5M.

The price is on the high side but you getting "almost" new car with little over 10K miles.
I bought mine 2013 in 2015 for the same price and car had about 35K miles at the time.
If its really that good and u love E series more than F series go for it! this is what I did and I still enjoying my car after little over 2 years in to ownership!

Happy New Year

Reminds me when I bought a 2003 4.4L E53 in 2009 with ~3k miles. I talked myself into thinking it was nearly new, but 6-7 years old still mattered *a lot*. Gremlins haunted it and me. Warranty would have made it reasonable, but I traded it in after just 2 years (on a '12 diesel E70) having learned vehicle age matters just as much as milage.

Good luck regardless!

If you looking for the newest example of an e70, it sounds like you have found it! Not all 2013 opted for the LED headlights, which is even better!
I doubt you will found one with fewer miles, so it would appear that you will be getting the best of the best if you go with this one!

....unless you buy mine.

Good luck and let us know what you decide!

Re; the Carmax warranty.... Five years ago, I bought a 2010 X5M from Carmax and the warranty was outstanding. Paid for itself easily....

They make it so if you bring the car to carmax, theres no deductible. However, mine only saw the BMW dealership so it was a $50 co-pay anytime something was wrong. A no-brainer IMO.

Good luck whatever you decide to do- but def get the warranty if you go down this path.....

Doesn't seem like a bad price @11k miles but it's also the age to consider. Things do go bad even when not used and sometimes even worse. How much is the Carmax warranty? What's the terms of coverage? Figure that into your total price. I would be more concerned with the V8 issues more than the LED feature. Good luck!

I did. Picked it up Saturday. Can't get enough of this thing. My girl says I'm constantly smiling when in it.

It's already sucking money out of my pocket for a slight drop and spacers, not to mention gas. I didn't think anything could drink as much gas as my 05 Land Cruiser (which is for sale if anyone is interested, please reach out).

Extremely happy with it though.

Sweet! Post up some pics if you get a chance. Is it Carbon Black or Black Sapphire?

Yah you'll be a frequent visitor at the gas station!

Yeah let's see some pics!

I am the same way with mine, smile every time I am in it, and hopefully much more so once I have my tune installed! The wife hates it, but oh well.

I have no complaints at all. Well, maybe the Bluetooth is garbage but I didn't get it for that. I initially had a F15 35i transferred through Carmax. I though it had everything I wanted, until I drove it. After driving it I realized it didn't have the adaptive suspension. The rear had some bounce to it. My 2011 M-sport had Adaptive Drive and I loved it. Didn't realize it made that big of a difference though. Luckily there was damage to the fender during transport so I was able to back out and get my transfer fee back. It seems like it's hard to find an F15 optioned with the suspension I wanted. Then the E70 M became available and I jumped on it and am extremely happy with my decision. The body style is obviously a little dated compared to the F15, but I'm in the Chicago area and I see both body styles what seems like 100 times a day. But the M is unique and I rarely see one. The average person doesn't know the difference, but we do. And I think there is value in not being part of the herd. It still hasn't hit me that I own the thing. Still in the dreamland phase like I'm a little kid again.

The car is ridiculous man. Do you have it tuned? It'll walk 90% of the cars on the road and it'll keep up with exotics. It's so much fun, and sooo solid. That's my favorite part, it feels like a tank but it HAULS.

Anyway post some pics you cheap bastard!

And not some 1998 Balckberry pics, come correct on the photos!
