BMW office functions

Does anyone know when all of the office functions will be available for the iPhone? It sucks that BMW has staged their audio around the iPhone, yet with their office app, the crack berry gets all the glory. I hate that I can\'t listen to texts or emails. Is this a problem with BMW or apple? Thanks in advance.

BMW Office requires a Bluetooth technology called MAP or Message Access Profile--it allows the iDrive computer to access email and text messages through Bluetooth. A lot of Blackberries have this Bluetooth feature or "stack" standard, as well as I think some other phones (like maybe from Sony and Samsung). It's not a BMW issue, I think--it's Apple. I never heard that Apple has any plans to incorporate MAP into the iPhone, unfortunately. Maybe one of these days...

Are you able to access emails? I would love an alternative to Blackberry?

i've looked and nothing on the Android market yet...

i have the new Samsung galaxy II epic 4g that i plan on connecting via BT..

I just got it... will this phone work with the basic functions of uploading the phone book and seeing who's calling via caller ID on the idrive screen?

I did not order the BMW apps...

not sure what to expect when my ride comes in in a few weeks...

You can go to www.bmwusa.com/bluetooth and search for your phone and carrier to see what functions will work with your particular phone.
