Sport Button on X6 and Msport suspension difference

This button below the shifter on the Msport x6, how and what is the difference between the stock x5 Msport suspension if any? i imagine the suspension gets stiffer but since the x5 doesnt have that button is it already built in ?

Got it on my X6 M50d. If you have Adaptive Drive it firms up suspension and steering. A very noticeable difference as can be switched on the fly. Some twisty roads round here and I keep mine in Sport mode all the time :-) ps. It's an AC Schnitzer I-drive cover, just had it fitted yesterday :-)
pps. how old is that pic above? The I-drive looks like an older version??

That sport button doesnt have anything to do with X5 or X6 or M Sports, it comes from Adaptive Drive option only. Most everything I have read about it says the option is worth it, despite being a few $k. I have yet to try one myself.

Yes definitely! I ordered the m50d which will arrive in may but before that I drove the 40d with and without adaptive drive and the difference is enormous. Without it it feels all soft and cringes when taking corners.

I just sold my 335 coupe and with adaptive drive the x6 almost felt as tight as the 335.

As noted, it is only on vehicles with adaptive drive. On the US vehicles at least, it only slightly firms up the suspension. Does nothing for the steering (I have active steering so that might be the issue?).

I had it on my 2010 X5 with M Sport Package and I only used it when driving through twisting roads. Not sure if it's worth the price though, as the X5 handled superbly to begin with. But you do notice the suspension tightening up with it engaged.

I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on an 11' X6M and it comes standard.
