Ahhhh.....I am not a BMW CCA member...$1,000 off? That sucks!
I spoke to my nearest AmEx participating dealer and they confirmed the flat $1000 over invoice quote on any 2012 X6M I order. Not too shabby.
I am going to wait and see what some of the other dealers come up with for me. I'm still going to shop around the used markets as well and maybe check out the BMW corporate auction, I have a buddy who is a dealer...

So, one of the other dealers matched the $1,000 over MSRP offer. I told him, "Um, I already have an offer for $1,000 over MSRP...? Offering the same as what I already have is not a better offer. See what else you can do." It just seemed almost comical. At least tell me that you'll throw in all season mats...

I agree, X6 looks, drives, and feels more like a sports car, also has a lower center of gravity = less body roll on the back.

Not saying I don't like the X5M is a matter of personal choice, we are 4 in my family so I really don't need the 3rd seat on the back, I love the look of 2 the separate seats with the center division for drinks, it gives the car a special interior design IMO

I am a little torn on the back seats....two or three? I like the center divider, too. But I also think it would be nice to have the extra space for passengers.....decisions....

I ran into situations when i needed extra (5th) seat
I have a toddler and i cannot take my parents because it would make it 5 of us
Or in case i need to take my friends coulpe

If I do a 2012, I will get it...even if just to open it up for more re-sale options. I have heard that the depreciation on the X6's is more than the X5's. Hopefully making the X6 a 5 passenger vehicle will improve that/make it more universally accepted.

That's not exactly correct
Most X6s at 48 months have higher residual than X5
Some X6 models have better residual from get go

To the above, that would make sense since the used X6Ms that I have been looking at are not marked down significantly. Especially compared to another high-end German motorsports division.(..ahhggmmm...AMG....) Those cars drop like rocks right off the lot.
