Can X6M be a daily driver?

I need advice from those who have X6M.
I drive 135i as a commuter and use 2005 X5 as a weekend/family car. Initially, I was looking at X6 to combine two cars and was leaning toward to 50i because I was going to give up 135i and wanted to have some fun factors while going to work. I couldn't testdrive X6 because my dealer sold all 2011 x6 when I dropped by. So I ended up test-driving X5 35i and 50i to compare two engines. I wasn't very impressed with a car mostly because both cars did not have adaptive drive. But I was surprised by how capable 35i engine is. After all, 35i is almost as powerful as my x5 4.4i. So, I almost decided to keep 135i as a daily commuter and get x6 35i as a family car.

Then, my dealer just sent me a message last Friday and he has "trade-in" 2011 X6M with 3000 miles on it. It's almost fully loaded except for Rear climate control, soft close automatic door and rear entertainment. He knocked off over 20k. So the price is similar to fully loaded 2012 35i. If I take X6M, I would give up 135i. Is X6M suitable as a daily driver? My only complaint about 135i is that a small gas tank and I have to refill every 4-5 days. I think that I would have a same routine with X6M but pay twice more.
Does anyone use X6M as a daily driver and any comment?
Thanks.

p.s. What about traveling with family (something like overnight trip) since I will be losing X5? Is it too much?

X6M is a DD here as well. Love it and have no regrets.

How many are in your family? How many kids? Back seat and trunk can be limiting factors but actually have more room than it appears. MPG is around 12 so it just depends on how far you have to commute everyday.

It sounds like every one enjoys the ride of X6M very much. Space is not a big issue for us. We rarely use full cargo space of X5 and somebody sat on the middle seat once or twice last year. My kids (5 and 6 year old) are doing okay in my 135 back seat. That is the main reason I am considering x6 over x5. However, a ride of 135 for my daughter is little too much. She gets sick. One hour of 135 is max she can take per ride even though she does not have a problem with sport suspension x5. Low MPG is my concern for X6M as I am putting 50miles/day. I am just being lazy here. lol.

I just bought a 2012 X6M, and it will be my only car and daily driver. Thanks for all the helpful posts!
