your ideal wheel size for X6 and suv's in general?

What is your ideal wheel size for the X6 and for SUV's in general?

I had an old SUV a long time ago in college but I didn't have any money to pimp it out with custom wheels at that time.

Since then I've only driven cars but now I'm seriously considering an X6.

For cars - my ideal wheel size is exactly 18". 17" is not terrible but it falls way short of pimpin. I feel that a wheel size larger than 18" on cars draws too much attention in a bad way. I'm referring to "normal" cars here - not ferrari's or lamborghi's, etc. But I think if you run 19" or 20" wheels on a normal BMW or Mercedes then I think at least one person has probably looked at your car and said - that guy is a total moron.

So if I like 18" wheel on normal cars then what do you think is a good equivalent wheel size for an SUV specifically the X6?

BMW puts 20" wheels on their X6M high performance model.

After Googling some pics of the X6M the size of the wheels on the X6M look sporty and proportional.

Since BMW puts 20" wheels on the X6M and this matchup appears to look Ok to me, I'll probably plan to get 20" aftermarket wheels for my X6 for now.....

I would definitely go with 20's to have more sidewall height.

22" fit nicely. You can even drop the X6 2 inches and still be safe. Depending on how light the rims are I would say 22" because the X6 has such a massive wheel well gap.
