2010 or 2011 X635i Help!!!
Hey everyone, I am new to this site and seems there is some great support on here!
My question is I am in the market for a preowned X635i, and I have found a great one well optioned 2010, however I am 99 percent sure the 2011 gets the newer N55 engine AND 8 speed, but no one has 100 percent confirmed that for me. So in all your expert opinions and experience would you say take the well optioned 2010 or is the 2011 if in fact equipped with new engine and tranny that much better hold out for one. There just doesnt seem to be a lot 0f 2011 nicely optioned ones here in canada yet for sale and I dont want to miss out on the 2010 Thanks everyone for all your input!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |

Correct - the 2011 has the 8 speed auto and N55 engine. HOWEVER, I believe BMW still makes a performance kit for the 2010 X6 35i.

They came out with a performance kit for the X6 35i and X6 50i in 2010. I think you could even get it factory installed. Your dealer should be able to get it for you.
For 2013, they brought it back in the form of the M Performance package. But I'm not sure it out as a retrofit for the 2011/2012 years. Without the power kit, I seem to remember that the N55 engine makes a bit more torque down low but the N54 makes more power up top (even though at peak they are both rated the same). So in theory a 2011 with N55 and 8 speed auto should be quicker off the line.
