i swear, every time i see someone in an srt8 he thinks he's a race car driver. Those things always feel the need to race and i usually give in and absolutely leave it in the dust.

I've seen an SRT8 with brembo brakes and slotted discs all around in my neighborhood. Does it really it brembo brakes?

The thing is, even since '09 C&D always said that the Jeep SRT should avoid taking on the X5m and Porche variants... SO anyone with an SRT has an inflated ego problem, they think that spending only 60k for a 6.4l can smack down anything on the road, but unfortunately even though the SRT uses the same platform of the Merc. Benz M class SUV, doesn't mean it equates to equal amounts of power...

The SRT is a nice machine, and a worthy competitor for those who may be cross shopping it against the X5 50i, but it's no where close to the league of power and handling of the X5M (I am not an X5M owner, nor could even think to afford one)

I am surprised though that the ML63 beat out the Porche, but... it is what it is

@kennyt yes it does have brembo's (stock)

C& D - weights

Great review by C&D. What surprised me were the relative weight of the X5M vs the Porsche Cayenne Turbo: when I was shopping last year I was told by the Porsche dealer the Cayenne Turbo was some 500# lighter than the X5M which gave it the edge in handling. The two rigs however are almost dead even in the weight department per C&D at respectively 5289 and 5242. Did the Cayenne bulk up recently?

Thinkkkker, I doubt the Porche Cayene gained any significant weight. More likely, the Porche salesman didn't know what he's talking about. I was surprised how little some of these luxury car salesman knew about the cars they're selling let alone cars from a competitor, often giving you the wrong information. When I was shopping for my X5, one salesman told me the difference between the X5 premium vs SA was that the latter was designed to go "off road". Huh? Needless to say, I bolted out of there and didn't buy from him. Another salesman confused Adaptive Drive with self leveling air suspension.

Coming from a guy with an X5M and a Panamera Turbo, I grab the keys with the ///M keychain 8/10 times.

Different, turbo has a nicer interior ad really does feel like a car that is double the price as far as all the little details. However, the BMW feels much more like a drivers car, and mine has quite a few upgrades so i much prefer it to the Porsche in almost all situations.
