Thinking of an X6 3.5 (lease)

Hey guys,

My current SUV lease is coming up and I am very interested in an X6. Now the national ad for a 36 month lease with premium package is $589/month with I think it was about 5k down. Would you guys mind sharing what your lease terms are so I can get an idea of what to expect? I only really want premium package, running boards, heated front seats and iPod integration.

Thank you.

Just leased an X6 35i with premium, sport activity, 20" rim upgrade, tech, running boards, and heated front seats. I'm paying $765 per month with $3,300 total out of pocket. NJ taxes 10k miles per year, 36 months.

5K is way too much to put down on a lease IMO, should at least put that money towards MSD's to lower your MF

OP: take a look at the August residual's and MF's listed on the ask a dealer section on bimmerfest: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=20

that info along with researching the invoice price should help you negotiate a good deal....

You should realistically be able to shave about $50 off of that payment if you put the same money down by negotiating the sales price to $4-500 over invoice.

Seriously! You need to be negotiating the price down to about 500 over invoice like KG just stated above. Putting money down on a lease is like pissing money away! I would pay 500 over invoice and 0 out of pocket except 1st payment.

I've been trying to negotiate with multiple dealers. With $2,000 down on a 36 month lease, 12k a year Im getting quotes of mid to high 800's with only premium, running boards and heated front seats which I think is ridiculous. What is the invoice for these cars?

I should also add that I am a returning BMW FS customer

Credit could be the issue. BMW FS uses dif factors than other banks could be why your est payment is so high. I have a 72k sticker 3.5 x6 36 month lease 4500k down 12k miles a year and my payment is 881$. A x6 like yours should be in the high 6 range low 7 at the worst with tier 1 credit. Did you ask why the payment was so high?
4-5k under msrp is about invoice.

edmunds is a good place to find invoice pricing...or to get a good idea of what invoice is...

Mark up on all BMW is 7% here stateside! You can work the numbers backwards of MSRP. 3rd party sites are not that accurate.

So you paid $4.5K (assuming includes 1st month payment, wht else is included in the 4.5K?) out of pocket and then even after paying all that money you are paying $881 / month on a 35i?

Yes the 4500$ includes first months payment and tax title and all the other crap that comes with leases. Only thing I got waved was security deposit. 881$ a month for a sticker of 72k on a x6 is a decent lease. It's not the best but it's far from bad. 589$ is what BMW is asking and you have to put 5k down and you only get 10k miles and a sticker of 58k. Adding 14 grand to the price plus miles and your gonna pay. But I think I got him to throw in the performance body kit for 1200$ installed but will see. I also got him to do free window tint and I got the sport package but didn't want summer tires so they are swapping thos out for some all seasons for me. I don't get it until next wkend so still waiting on the kit. But I called around and everyone I talked to were in the 800 range at least most were in the 9 range.

Since you haven't picked it up yet, I'd try to re-negotiate - that seems very high. I have one on order that is about the same sticker price (72,525) and the lease rate with 5k down (includes refundable sec deposit, fees and 8% sales tax which must be pre-paid in NY) is about $790. That rate will drop by another $20 or so once I apply the $1000 Ultimate drive Credit. This is for a 10k lease btw, so you'd have to add $20 or so to my rate for an apples to apples comp. Also, waiving the security deposit is generally not a good idea because it raises the money factor. If they are waiving the sec deposit because you are a current (or recent former) BMW financial customer, then it doesn't effect the MF.

In NY taxes are different but I will def have someone look at lease numbers for me before I sign. Yes the security was waved bc I had a BMW with bmwfs before. I called a lot of places and most were giving me rates around 920$. Cheapest was around 820$ and it was online. If anyone is good with lease prices let me know I will send them over. But from what I saw it seemed reasonable. I think he took 3500k off sticker.

Don't lease, pay CASH at the last minute, after they give you all the incentives. They choke on CASH!

I got around $5300 off sticker ($6300 if you count the udc), so that's a big part of the dif. If you threaten to walk, i bet they'll match or come close to that.
Make sure they don't markup the money factor too.

I recently ordered an X6 3.5. Once received, I will be paying $950/month which includes the ridiculous CA sales tax. Nothing down, other than first month's lease and standard drive-offs (registration, etc.).

Nothing wrong with a company making a profit is there? Just agree with the seller on what is a fair profit. Very simple. It isn't a non profit organization. People that don't feel a business has a right to make a profit, should get their head examined. Regardless of what you may do for a living, I imagine you wouldn't like to work for free. Just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.

Sales tax in LA is 9.75%.

By memory, the breakdown was something like:

1st month payment = $950
DMV ~ $950
Something else.. ~$900

I have the figures at home.

Absolutely not. But I'm perfectly happy to have my sale subsidized by 90% of the folks who don't invest the time or energy into the research and negotiation required to get the lowest price. If everyone bought cars from the dealer at a few hundred over invoice, there would be no dealer.

Why would there be no dealer. The invoice price doesnt really mean anything....no one knows what the real invoice price / actual cost is....its only the dealer/ BMW who knows what the actual cost is......

You might want to consider assuming another lease. I have a 2010 X6m lease that I am looking to have someone assume. That way you can get the best deal available. Far better than buying it new.
