3 year old rides around Nurburgring in a 600hp 911

Last week I took my 3 year old son Nolan out on his first lap of the legendary Nordschleife in my 2007 911 Turbo. I threw together a video of our adventure. His dialogue at the end kills me

My son has a huge passion for cars already. He loves going to car shows with me and even taking pictures of the cars, and was excited about this drive around the track (though I might've went a little fast for him a few times). Either way, I'm glad I was able to experience this with him. I know it made his day, and i'll never forget it even if he one day does.

To those that are going to say this was irresponsible and dangerous and blah blah blah, I drove very slow and responsibly out there, and if his mom had no concerns about it, then you shouldn't either.

Enjoy the vid. He's a true gearhead in the making!

Is a three-year-old in a booster in the front seat even legal there? It sure isn't here.

If the airbag is disabled and there is no back seat (or the backseat is full of other passengers), then yes it is.

We have kids in front facing booster looking things from 8kilos up. They just have a thingy in the front too.

Good for you op. I taught my then 5 year old how to shift and how to steer in an M4 on an empty parking lot. When they cleaned their rooms, i took them out in the night to do donuts.

Cool thing, smart boy. Driving with you the Porsche would hopefully prevent him to grow up to a 3 series driver

It depends on how big your child is...

Quote:
Booster seats & cushions

15-25kg/33-55lb or 22-36kg/48-79lb. Boosters are best used when a child has completely outgrown a child seat. Some seats have backs to provide additional safety.

if there is a rear seat it is far safer in the back
regardless of booster/airbag blah blah blah,
cars more usually either rear end or hit things
not making any judgements on the OP
I always say it's too late to cry when someone is dead or injured
my one drives in the back until deemed safe (by law at the minimum)

Normally I might agree. Normally. But like you said, "if there is a rear seat" which in my case there isn't which by European law (which is the same in most US states I'm pretty sure) this was 100% legal. Also the rear seat area in the 911 is small. Very small. Maybe not the safest place for a 4 foot tall 3 year old especially if I get rear ended in a rear engine vehicle. You could make an argument for both cases but this was also just a one time thing. My children are rarely if ever in my 911. I have a daily beater for that.

I'm contacting child protection services. Jk my dad used to drive me and my brother around town in the back of his pickup truck while having a cold one (or two)..so this seems quite safe in comparison.

Great video!

Safety first. The kid should at least be in a proper five point harness complete with helmet and hans device along with full fire suit.

I remember the joy of my young kids when they rode the Green Hell for the very first time, when they were 7 and 9.
That was priceless !

My dad told me about the time he was doing a ton on a dual carriageway in an MGB with me tucked in the back when I was only months old..
