Two questions if someone can help me out. Background: Before I started coding anything, I had the HUD with the NAV showing the departure lanes like when you are on the highway and it told you which lane to be in (like TomTom). I have lost the HUD Streets/Lane exits I used to get. I'm not sure why but I'm sure it was during a coding session long ago. I'd like to get them back. Shawn has tried to help out but no luck so far.

Question 1: If I update the software, will I regain this NAV/HUD feature?

Question 2: If Answer 1 is yes, can I still Code it to regain the features I want most such as Video in Motion?

1) If it was lost from coding, it can be gained back by coding, without updated software. We just need to figure out what coding or iDrive setting you need to enable.

2) If you update the software, you can code everything same as it was.

Hey Shawn,

My car got back from service the other day and they did some software updates (which overwrote some of my coding).

I went to go read the CAF and I got the following error:

....im assuming this is because I need updated PSzData? If so, can you provide please. By the way Im running E-sys 3.23.4

side note, the service adviser called me out for coding. he says to me "our tech noticed you had the M-Performance logo on your dash, which applies to 335's that have the m-performance tune...and you have a 328"

i respond to him saying "thats how I got it" and kept playing dumb. He caught on and was being really cool about it....he just kept saying "be careful....you dont want to deal with a broken car"

Thank you Shawn. I'll probably just do that and re-code the changes I'd like to keep. I've found so far that the main changes I like are the Video in Motion and the AC cooled seats being slightly colder.

Changes I'd love to be able to figure out: 1. Keep the HUD white in color even at night instead of amber. 2. MORE info showing on the KOMBI just for the sake of it showing.

1) can I upgrade my standards steering to servotronic with coding? I appreciate I might need an fsc code Code how much of they cost and where can I get it?

2) can I add Siri eyes free and how do I go about this?

3). I can stream music via Bluetooth but I only get album artwork on my iPhone when plugged in. Can this be coded for

4) If coding gets wiped every time a car gets a software update do you have to recode items that need an fsc code and purchase a new one.

Sorry if any of the questions are covered but I found it difficult to find a comprehensive answers by searching the forum.

1) Maybe. Contact Chang to see if EPS FSC Code is available for your VIN. PM sent.

2) Yes, so long as you have NBT with at least 50.4 firmware. FDL Code HU_NBT => CE_DEVICE_SPEECH_RECOGNITION = aktiv.

3) Yes, so long as you have NBT with at least 50.4 firmware. FDL Code HU_NBT => ENT_BTAS_IAP_COVERART = aktiv.

4) If car is programmed by dealer, any ECU encoded during the programming session will need to be custom coded again. This is true regardless of whether the function requires an FSC Code or not.

E-SYS can remove the fault code.

Click "External Applications" in the left menu.
Click "External Application"
Double-click "Transmitter"
Scroll to the bottom and double-click "... Clear all DTCs ..."
