Going in for index 12 injector tomorrow

Hey guys,

I was browsing the injector recall thread but i didn't see what i was looking for in my brief glance through the posts. Tomorrow night I'm dropping off my X5 for the S63 injector recall. Do you guys think I should flash back to stock? I'm currently on the Velos S2 tune with catless DPs.

I know i'm going to get the obvious answers "search" "just flash stock" but what have you guys done? I'd rather not flash stock and drop the truck off with a CEL bc catless is being picked up by the O2 sensors.

I recently picked up another F10 from this same dealer and I made the appointment while I was waiting to finalize the deal. Salesperson said he will have the truck looked after by the right shop mechanic, which doesn't mean much but its better than nothing I guess.

Let me know what you guys did.

Thanks,

The injector recall should not be affected or influenced by ECU mods....if the dealership gives you a hard time, you need a new dealership.

I can offer my experience... I didn't have the Velos tune when I had the injectors done, but I did have the cats gutted. The truck went in with the CEL and came out with the CEL. No worries, but then again, my SA and my dealership know me and my cars very well.

What was the turn around for the service? I'm hoping to get my truck back asap.

Just over the weekend. Dropped it on Friday, back to me with a full detail on Monday.

I have the AA Stage 2+ on my truck and I didn't get any questions when I took mine in for the recall. Actually my SA was really cool about it but she has an M3, tuned.

As far as turn around, mine was same day, all day, but same day nonetheless.

I have velos stage 2 and left it in place. I had no issues during injector replacement and nothing was discovered/discussed at stealership regarding the tune. I had contacted Velos prior to the work and they said you will be fine by leaving in place but if it makes you feel better than return to stock. I had vehicle back the same day.

Fortunately a good friend and the only person I let touch my cars went back to work for BMW last week. He worked there years ago and went to a smaller high end place that specialized in exotics only to return to BMW for the benefits package.

That being said... He's doing my injector recall. He started on it this afternoon around 2 and told me it would be ready for pickup by lunch time. Ive been getting picture updates from him which is pretty nice.

I was not a fan of my service advisor. We got in a little back and fourth because the mileage on the paperwork was incorrect and I wanted it changed and he told me it would be updated when I picked the car up. I told him again I wanted it fixed and he gave me the same answer. I then told him that maybe he didn't comprehend that I wasn't interested it what it said when I picked it up.. I wanted the documentation stating what mileage I brought it in with to be accurate... on the paperwork that i leave with... Then I turned and asked the kid getting me a loaner if this guy was always this much of a pain in the ass to deal with or if I just got lucky today... Needless to say, it got corrected. Told the kid that i wasn't trying to be a dick but i didn't want to give anyone a 30 mile buffer for anyone to take my truck to lunch or home with tonight. I've been around cars long enough to know the truth to what happens with cars at shops.

I know, it always takes a while to get these things fixed since dealers don't stock parts. I've been waiting on a new transfer case to show up since Monday.

Wonder if a salesperson can push it along. The service center really drags their feet.

My dealer had them in stock. Called me around noon to pick the car up.

Getting almost 5 mpg better fuel consumption. I do feel like I had a bad injector before. Got a choppy start up recently and had a lumpy power curve. All that seems to be good now.

Nice that's good to hear. I'm currently getting 11.3 mpg. What were you getting and what are you at now?

I was getting low 13's... 13.2-13.4... Now I'm getting 17.8-18.2. Both are a mix of M driving and non M driving. I'm a little heavy footed as well.

The only programming portion of the injectors is coding/mating the new inectors to the DMV. They wont adjust the tune or any other parameters.
