Drivers door lock issue

Ok for a few weeks now, not sure exactly how long, or if this is even related to the current problem. If I unlock the doors on my 2013 x5 from a distance, not sure how long exactly, when I reach up to open the door, the car locks only the drivers door. The other doors stay unlocked. Kind of annoying. you can actually see it lock and hear it beep just like you pressed the button.

Yesterday the drivers door has stopped unlocking. the only way to get it to unlock is to use the blade key. Playing around with the car today before work I have noticed a few thing.

Starting with the doors unlocked. All of the doors lock fine with the key fob when you press the button. if you press the unlock button all except the drivers door unlocks. pressing the lock button again gets you a beep, and you can hear the drivers door lock make a noise like it is trying to lock, but it is already locked. once the divers side is locked none of the other doors will lock. only way to get them to lock is use the blade key and unlock the drivers side door. then you can lock all of the doors again. the button inside does not do anything different then the fob. my phone with drone mobile does the same thing as the fob, up to the point when the drivers door is locked it just gives a communication error message.

Is the actuator in the door bad? seems odd it locks fine but wont unlock.

Yes, door lock actuators. I've replaced both rear doors and now my front passenger side has started acting up. Frustrating that it's common and that the part is so pricey…

To me it us starting to sound like a module not an actuator. Surely all doors wouldn’t fail at the same time

All four of mine have been failing in some way for the past two years. The rears started first with symptoms you describe and the fronts with minor issues. Replaced the rears and no issues since. Now the front passenger is experiencing same symptoms. If you find a module responsible please post.

May 2013 build.

Will do thanks. Just seems odd that they all worked with no issue, (if the driver door locking when I get close is unrelated) then all stopped exactly the same time. there wasn't really any going out phase, just worked then did not work. I am going to check fuse 27, 28, and 30. I expect fuse 28 is blown, and the other 2 are fine. As far as modules, PN 6135929709 and PN 6114631687 appear to be related. Now I understand that it could be a single, or multiple actuators starting to go and maybe one of them blew fuse 28. maybe the times I thought the other doors where locking they were not. IDK like I said I am going to check the fuses. just a real pain when you can not open the door and am tall and overweight...

Oh boy if i could ever find who came up with the idea of putting the fuse panel where it is, they would not have a good time. The joy i would get from torturing them would be so sweet!

4 hours and no luck getting the fuse out. I did almost set the car on fire though, so almost a win.... I think the fuses down there do not have a lip on them for the fuse puller to catch on. got to find another tool to pull them.

Just dealt with this. Central locking didn't work. Key fob would only lock the drivers door. Only way to get in was metal key in drivers door. All other doors wouldn't open at all, even by internal latch. Unlock 15a fuse was blown. There are 2, one for lock and one for unlock. Used puller that came with the $20-240pc fuse pack from Amazon. It was a real PITA and I had to collect my patience a couple times, seeing as I had to be flat on my back since the passenger door wouldn't open. All is good now.

Did you ever find a solution to this?

My remote can open the tailgate, but no doors
My remote can lock all doors except driver
The centre button by the hazard switch can unlock and lock all doors
Only way to open the drivers door is with the metal key, which also opens all other doors
Have replaced the drivers door actuator as well.

Have replaced all the respective fuses, and am getting the same error code re the relay as you did. Would love to know what the fix is, I am suspecting either a broken wire or somethings amiss with the footwell module.
