You're right... Sounds super cheap... I hate when I have guests and they put the arm on top the the lock or the aluminum and the plastics move too! Seriously! Last X6!

totally agree, the plastic covers from the bottom of the seats and other covers from the rear hatch sounds with a minimum move.....even tough, I love my car, I just try not to take it too serious.

I hate to admit this, but I have to agree...this is my first BMW after wanting one for a long time - ordered new but sooo disappointed with the cost cutting BMW did...no sliding sun visors, inexpensive quality Nevada leather, not even a courtesy light in the center console...it boggles the mind the little things that are useful to have that they cut to squeeze more profit (prob a whole $30 total - yippee!!) BMW is laughing all the way to the bank

Do you have comfort seats? Mine (with comfort seats), used to make noise from the drivers seat, but i guess it was a certain position setup, since a year now, zero noise, zero creaks... Car is rock solid (have 19" wheels only, which I am sure helps because I am allergic to in-car noise).

no comfort seats... just the plastic pieces throughout the interior... they dont even have "oh shit handles" to enter or exit the car or simply hold onto, more cost cutting, ill be happy to let you guys know my sister recently purchased a new design 328 and i went in to check for these "noises" built much more solid and no noises, im sure someone but this to bmw's attention and they acted on it, i hope.

While my seat doesn't make noise, I agree, there are just too many things on this truck that scream cheap. #1 as pointed out are the lack of grab handles. #2 would be the thin door skin - notice how much the door shimmies when you close it. #3 might be the light in the button to close the hatch (love how it only lights up part of it). Little things I know, but at $70K+.....

I found that depends also on the weight of the driver, i do weight 250 pounds and my wife less than half of that, she can barely hears any noise when she drives the car, so I better start a diet asap......LOL

Bought this "anti-noise tape" from BMW yesterday, is an adhesive cloth tape that the factory uses all over the car, hope this will help, the roll cost me like $10 US dollars, here a couple of pics

Same with my car..I hear all these cracking, squeaking sound from all over the place especially during the winter..I went to the dealer a couple of times for the noises but they couldn't catch it. Does anyone else hear creeking noise from the rear right suspension area? I'm not exactly sure where the noise is coming from, but it bothers me too much..

Yes, I hear it all the time, specially if you are driving and steer to the right, try it and you'll hear it.. When i have someone sitting down on the back, the noise will stop, so it has to be somewhere between the seat and the pastics on that area... I went to the dealer, but they apparently dont care >.<

BMW used cheap thin plastic for all the interior covers, mostly the ones located below the seats and rear hatch

When I had brand new LCI X6, it made noise from the driver and passenger seats. I have Shimano Reel Oil & Grease Spray for my Stella and other reels. I was thinking I just want to spray and it worked. The noise was gone. I had E60 550i and it never made noise from the seats. My brand new F10 550i doesn't make any noise either.

Where exactly did you apply the spray?
Someone told me to use leather conditioner where the leather seats meet the plastic covers......

Never heard about Shimano oil, just for your knowledge, be aware that leather is not a "good friend" of some silicon based products like for example Armor All (dash and tire shiners), the main problem starts if silicone gets into the leather pores, it will start to "dry" the leather until it breaks, leather is a skin that needs to be treated (needs air and humidity) to last.
just a comment if you didn't knew it

Haven't applied the tape yet, but it will go all over the edges of the plastic covers from the hatch where the covers meet the metal parts, also where the rear cargo cover rests, and maybe still not sure, I will test on the edges where the plastic meets the leather at the bottom of the front seats. I already did a job in my car some time ago with good results on the rear hatch, I used a foam tape al over the plastics, I will try to re-post those pics again if I find them

My friends have X5 and X6 and they had the same problem. I sprayed Shimano Fishing Reel Oil to plastic trims under seat. The NOISE was gone. If you don't know what Shimano Oil Spray is, just google it yourself.

I never use that kind of product on leather. I always treat the leather with Leather Master Leather Care Products, 3 steps. If you don't know about the products and meaning of 3 steps either, I'm telling you, just google it yourself please.
