tire size question

my old 21" wheels have 285 front and 325 rear tires. I have a guy with an x5 who's interested but he wants to know if he can mount 255 tires all around. Would those fit?

Definitely not! Way to skinny of a tire for that rear width 21" rim...

He maybe could get away with 255 fronts and 275 rears. Not sure would have to get exact specs on those 21" wheels.
