Navigation issues?

Thanks in advance,
My navigation has stopped working and the dealership is not an option.
What do you think is the best plan for me?
CD or USB resources or vendor.....ect?

The history is the Dealership replaced the DME under warranty but wants to charge me for the Navigation update. Currently shows a test map but pre-replacement the Nav worked as it should.
Quote is $800 unbelievable!

Contact BMW NA.
If dealer service replaced DME under warranty for I’m sure a good reason, they can’t do a partial install and leave your vehicle without something it came out of the factory with.

Post me contacting BMW NA, I shared my same feelings about a partial install.
I received one message from the Dealership and I have been trying to contact them ever since. That one call was in February,,,,why?
Anyway, I just purchased the USB Nav update from Bimmer America and I hope it works.

Thank you for the attachment and I will contact Someone but the problem is with the Dealership. The service manager is only interested in revenue and not the Customer.
She is confused or does not understand the customer pays her salary.

Simply put, she needs a new job operating a hand shovel at a large “FEEDLOT”

Congrats on your purchase.

It worked perfectly for me. Saved me $800 bucks too as that is what the dealership charges everywhere.

Most important, remember to plug the USB stick into the GLOVE BOX port and not the usual Center console port.

Also you have to return the the USB stick. You could always make a copy on to another USB stick if you want to after you download into the car.

How do I copy or clone the incoming usb to another usb without damaging the original usb?
Easy and simple suggestion or instructions is best for me at my age. Lol

After an Internet search, I am not sure about the usb terms “ bootable usb” or “non-bootable”. Can anybody help me understand how to copy or clone the new usb to another usb?

Try this way; may work

Insert the incoming USB on your desktop PC

Go to My Computer and see it as a external HD

Click on it and see the listed files.


Select all from the menu tabs and select copy

Then open the new blank USB and select paste from the menu tabs

IF it works, all the files will be copied from the old USB
