Muffler options for n55

Hi Guys,

What muffler / catbacks are you guys running?

Been looking for something more aggressive than stock for the n55s but I don’t see many options out there.

Have you tried having the valve open? Its super loud on cold start, and has pops and burbles at around 2-3k. All you have to do is to flip the valve open. Takes 5 minutes and makes a world of difference.

Stock with the valve tied open at the moment. If I see a good deal pop up on the M performance system, that’s supposed to sound nice.

Megan also supposedly make a nice sounding system for the money as well

Folks like the Megan axleback, but most of those reviews are on a V8... Hard to say what it'll sound like on a 6cyl.

But I think an axleback is the easiest option, and you have lots of options there from custom to pre-made. Don't discredit american brands like vibrant, magnaflow, etc, if it's just a muffler.

Ahh yes. Good call on Vibrant. A bunch of guys were running them on the E39 subforum and they sounded great for the price.

Yes I have that done, but I need it even louder haha.
