Hot girl + X5. Video! Fixed

Guys,

Rear Stabilizer Bar weird noise. Video!

I'm having this weird noise coming from the rear stabilizer bar every 20 sec non stop, when the car is off. Where is the oil coming from on that thing? Also at the same time this start happening, I got the increased battery discharge error on the idrive. Will this noise affect the battery been discharge or vice verse?
Dealer want $500 for changing the battery from 90a to 105a AGM. Isn't the battery on the recall too? I checked and it hasn't been never change, still the factory one from 4 years.

Dam, no one on this.
I thought this xbimmer forum page was better than bimmerfest. I got like 10 replies on bimmerfest.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=872395

I guess I will spend more time there than here.

I had that same exact sound for which no one had a good response. Correspondingly, I had the engine malfunction CEL which led to all spark plug and injector replacement. After that service, I no longer have that noise and also never get the increased battery discharge warning when starting the car. I suspect there was some kind of software update that accompanied the injector service that cured this issue. Here's the thread for what it's worth.

Thanks man,
Didn't you find out where the noise really was coming from, like in my case coming from drive sway bar?

The sound was definitely coming from the bottom rear, driver's side. Did not go to length trying to pinpoint exactly what component, in the end the issue went away.

Haha same.

Still digging through various different manuals - at a guess is it some sort of electric dampening control?

That was my first thought. To those that had this clicking, do you both have Adaptive Drive on your vehicles? I assume any self-adjusting component has to be for AD?
I don't think any other component would click repeatedly like that.

Yeap, I have AD. I'm getting the new 105ap battery and sowftware update today. Let see if the noise goes away after that.

Great - must be a big relief!

On a side note - AFAIK, only 2013 X5 models can be upgraded to 105 AH batteries (something about battery adapter). 2011 and 2012 models can only take a 90 AH. If you dealer claims to have installed a 105 AH battery on your 2011, they likely ripped you off. Batteries were initially covered as part of N63, but I believe there was some change to the campaign and it got taken off (not sure, would be good to verify).

They had to update the software in order to take the 105 AH. I did pay for it, not covered in the CCP.

there is no software component involved that leads to incompatibility of the 105 AH battery in models prior to 2013 - it's a physical adapter of some sorts. I could be wrong - but worth researching on your part!

Edit:
never mind, I am wrong. post LCI vehicles can take 105 AH.
