Remove glove box lower tray? How?
I'm trying to remove the lower tray in my glove box (2010 X6). I can't figure out how to get the USB connector out so I can lift it out. I can see the back of it but it isn't obvious how it pops out and no amount of force is going to get it out unless something changes.
Has anyone got a clue about this particular part? Thanks for the net.wisdom. |

Some discussion there on whether there are additional mounting screws behind airvents or under passenger footwell. Good luck! |

No screws, it all just clips together. The USB connector pulls into the glovebox where you can disconnect the cable then you can remove the inners which are in two pieces

I did solve it, finally.
You must use a trim tool to remove the bottom piece first. You work around the corners and finally you can work it loose. It must be removed completely. Then, you can pop out the top piece out of place. To remove the USB connector, you must press on the top and the bottom of the bezel that holds it. It is held in place by a spring steel clip at both top and bottom. Once the USB connector is out, the top half of the insert will pull right out. I have to applaud Mercedes for the availability of service information - it is far easier (and cheaper) to obtain than BMW's. I have both cars and the BMW is much harder to work on due to lack of info. |
