Burning smell - replacing leaking cooling hoses - DIY

If you are noticing burning plastic smell inside our outside, rapid loss of antifreeze coolant in your system, most likely the issue is these two hoses that are leaking: 11537598341 (inlet hose) and 11537598343 (return hose). Cost for each is approximately $55 Ebay, $75-$85 BMW dealership parts department. Should not take more than 2-3 hours to complete this replacement - DIY.

1.) Remove engine cover and Air Filter assembly
2.) Remove electric Engine Cooling Fan for easy access to all cooling hoses
3.) Disconnect inlet hose at three points, re-attach new, replacement inlet hose
4.) Disconnect return hose, also at three points, including two quick-connect areas in the middle of the radiator wall and replace with new return hose. Note: some antifreeze coolant will leak out of the radiator.
5.) Replace and re-connect all components
6.) Top-off antifreeze coolant in both of the reservoirs, main and turbo coolers
7.) Burp air out of the cooling system: turn on the ignition (do not start the car), put heater temperature to 84 degrees (max), set fan speed to minimal (one bar), press gas pedal to the floor for 10 seconds. Once process is started, you will hear loud bubbles and water moving around noise inside the engine compartment. Allow 8-10 minutes for it to complete. Turn off your ignition
8.) Re-pressurize cooling system 15psi for 15-20 min to confirm no more leaks
9.) You are done , feel free to ask any questions on this

Wow - Thanks, Igor. All those images look the same to me (i.e., intimidating I did it myself!). Glad you identified this issue.
