Considering purchasing a 2010 4.8i M sport
Hey guys. Wanted to get a few opinions on the 2010 4.8i M sport X5's. I'm a BMW master tech and have owned two 2012 loaded X5D's along with a ton of other BMW's over the past 15 years. having said that, I typically lean towards the I6 engines (only V8 I owned was a E34 540i/6 touring I built.)
This vehicle came in for a airbag recall from our local porsche dealer. It's destined for the auction due to mileage. But overall, it's very clean. Needs some PDR work and some paint work on the rear. But the interior is near mint and overall it's a very clean X5 that isn't burning any oil (No signs of valve seals leaking.) Here are the specs 2010 4.8i M sport Black with saddle interior 106k miles CIC Navi Heated seats adaptive suspension 19" wheels Premium package Comfort access Adaptive headlamps It needs rear brakes, tires, and the oil thermostat O rings. It's mechanically solid other than that. It doesn't have a USB port and doesn't support bluetooth streaming. I'm not familiar with retrofits on the CIC system. Is it possible to add a combox and USB to enable bluetooth streaming? I'm changing careers and will be using this vehicle for work use. I'll probably put 20-30k miles a year on it. So I would love to have bluetooth streaming. How rare is this thing? I haven't seen too many M sport Pre LCI X5's come through the shop. The fact that it has a CIC instead of a CCC is very nice. And I love the adaptive suspension. I hate the 19" wheels and tire options seem to be slim for them. I'll probably pick up a set of 20's for it if I buy it. I can pick it up for $11,500. I love our X5D. It's great for long distance driving and i'm a huge diesel fan. If this were a diesel I would definitely buy it. I'm just on the fence if I want to deal with V8 issues as they pop up. Here are a few pics I took after giving it a quick wash to see the imperfections.

Also make sure you fix the drive shaft recall if you haven't already.
I bought your 215's I say go for it. Solid price all around. I'm really confused why an M Sport V-8 with flares comes with 19's. That looks hideous. Def needs a staggered set up. |

Funny part is they are staggered. I wish I would have kept the 21's now, lol.

I would get it. Such a great looking X5 w/ that msport pkg. They are pretty rare in the 4.8 trim, however i believe there is one currently for sale on this forum.
I had those same wheels on my 2011. I had planned on using them for winter, but there really aren't any snow tires available for them. I got rid of them for a 20" summer and 18" winter set up instead.
