E70 Steering wheel - remove toggle buttons from trim to repaint

Hi All, As per the title, I have a 2010 3.0d E70. The plastic trim around the controls on the steering wheel has paint lifting, and I want to repaint the trim bits. I've removed the airbag, unscrewed the trim piece, and removed the left & right plastic trims (I was able to remove the electrics from the rear), but the 2 "toggle" buttons (one is + & -, the other up & down) don't want to come out of the plastic trim. I'd rather get them out than mask them for painting, but don't want to break them.

Anyone know how they come out (without breaking)?

Thanks

The buttons have tabs holding it onto the trim. You need to pry those tabs with a small pick.

Thanks for replying. My son turned up not long after I posted, and his younger eyes were able to see the tabs & get the rockers out.
