that's just the adapter, what about the screen, hhd, NBT controller and center trim to fit the controller? This is easily going to be well $1,500 in parts alone.

I had gotten a quote recently from BimmerRetrofit for just the parts needed and with their "sale" prices, it was going to run me about $2,300 just in parts. the biggest cost is the actual "head unit" and screen which is anywhere from $1800-2000 and then there's the new iDrive controller, adapter to get HD radio, adapter to keep bluetooth, ect. Unfortunately it all adds up.
I REALLY want to do this on my X, but I just can't justify the cost. |

This retrofit is not for the faint of heart, is so complex that we don't offer it for sale in our website. There's only 2 shops in the country that we work with that have experience installing NBT retrofits. It's a 8-10hr job.

There really aren't huge updates from CiC to NBT - some nice speed increases, but really, I find CiC to be fine. I think you should go on a nice vacation or put the $$$ towards a future vehicle instead of dumping it into outdated technology. BMW is already 2 revisions ahead on its new cars just the way it goes, and will continue to go...
