2011 X5d
Hi guys,
As suggested by one of the members here, I've started this to show some pics and share some information some of you might find helpful. I've been lurking on here for a while now and I like and respect what many of you have done to your cars. Kinda gave me ideas what I wanted out of mine. So here's my contribution... It's a 2011 X5d. I think it has every option except rear tv's. Picked it up in 2014 from a friend of mine, who bought it new. Back then it had 70k km on the odometer (43k miles), now I'm up to 165ish (102). Happy to say that it's been mostly trouble free! Only major fix was getting the carbon cleaned up. I've had KW V2 on it by the end of my first day having the car, there's no EDC and no air bags in the rear. I'd like to have it a bit lower but the rears are all the way down, while the fronts have about couple inches to go. The only problem that's occurred was one of the rear bushings went last summer. KW sent me new ones and everything has been good since. It's set on softest settings and overall I love the ride but of course always mindful of potholes. Also, had spacers put on same day 15mm on the front and 25mm on the rear. Summer wheels are 239's in 21 inches (285 and 325). Downside is buying new rubber every spring. I just purchased a very nice set of 22" Brada's, should have them on in a couple of weeks. Winters are 215's non staggered (I like to run full Winter tires with aggressive tread and couldn't find anything larger than 285's) In 2015 I added the aero package but had it modified to still have the running boards, gave it a unique look. Few months back I also swapped the gray head-liner for a black one, which also at that point added the roof rails for a roof rack. Btw, swap from start to finish took about 6 hours, including the removal from the donor car. (I'll post a picture some other time with the interior) Recently I had it tuned by a reputable shop here near Toronto, extra 70+hp and 90+trq. Feels better than ever! I love this car, I drive it everyday and everywhere, been on couple long road trips, actually might drive it to New York next week. Thanks for reading... |

Honestly I have to say I'm not one for crazy wraps but that camo wrap with those wheels looked really good. I would imagine those Bradas would really pop with that wrap too.
Still like the looks of your current setup, clean, simple and nothing over the top. Any other mod plans? What tune are you running? |

No future mods planned other than the rims. I like everything about it. I'm not sure about the tune, it was described to me as Stage 1. I feel the difference and see better gas mileage so I'm good with that! |

Few pics with the wheels on...
I think the wheels look amazing, maybe not as good as with air ride on the previous owners X5 but I can live with this. Maybe I'll get them painted black for next year... The ride is actually not so bad, was thinking would be worse for 22's...although my pregnant girlfriend might not agree Cheers |

BaggedX5 No worries man, worth the wait. No spacers. I got Lionharts for tires lol 295/30/22 and 335/25/22. Rear one is stretched a bit compared to the front, I think I'd go with a 285 next time to stretch that one a little
boneca Thanks! |

I definitely enjoyed reading and viewing your build. I must say the new wheels make that car stand out in a great aggressive way. Keep it up!

Looking good. Every time I see pics of your X5 I start thinking about doing a wrap similar to what you had. For whatever reason I really liked it and with those wheels it would have been interesting to see.

Installed.
So far the only complaint I have is the lack of information that's provided. There's barely any instructions lol I've ordered it with extras and I'm not sure if they're just installed as software. Just waiting for a reply from them. Other than that, screen is awesome! The resolution is fantastic, 360 camera works great on on the bigger screen. Thanks for introducing me to it boneca !! |
