X6 factory closed for a month??

Hi guys!

I was wondering if someone nows if the factory in S.Crl was closed since in dealership they told me that my X6 is late for 2 weeks because of that...
And is there a way to follow the car and find out where it is after leaving the factory.

Thx

He's calling from Belgrade, Serbia... I would assume that would get quite expensive after a few calls!

The South Carolina factory has not been closed except for the 2 wk Holiday Shutdown. The Plant is running shorter work weeks and managing vehicle inventory even tighter than during the intial X6 ramp up and launch. All because of the Worldwide Auto sales meltdown.Probably means fairly long waits for ordered X5 and X6's.Hope this helps!! Thanks! PalBay

Thanks Palbay, guess this confirms BMW's return to the pull business model.

Delay in delivery is caused by smaller no. of cars to be onboard ships to Europe. . Lesser cars to be shipped, more expensive shipments, bmw doesn't like to pay the extra costs to send a ship from US with half the no. of cars it used to ship. . .Example, BMW Romania wants to collect more money from customers that ordered cars, where delivered at showroom, but customers didn't show up yet to pay for them, and get the car. There are 600 new BMW's parked in Austria for delivery here, that are not shipped, because the parking lot of the dealer is still packed with ordered cars, but not payed for, yet.

Logistics. .doh.
