2012 X5 50i M-Sport
I’m finally getting around to my newbie post. I have been hanging around the forum for the last month and have already enjoyed multiple suggestions and advice from other members. I hope to contribute and do the same in return. This isn’t my first BMW (E46 & E60) but my first in the X series.
I picked up my 2012 Alpine White 50i M-Sport (CPO, 22K) in June and have loved every minute. I have done a few minor upgrades and have a few more planned. Below I listed some of the details. Specs: Alpine White Black Leather Bamboo Trim M-Sport Package Premium Package Convenience Package Technology Package Premium Sound Upgrades/Mods: 20% Tint all windows 15% Tint panoramic roof IND painted front reflectors BMW performances grilles WeissLicht front LED turn signals WeissLight LED fog lights Painted keyhole cover Painted plate frame BMW M floor mats BMW interior LED bulbs License plate holes filled and respray Full “debadge” Last edited by NORCAL BMW; 10-31-2014 at 04:17 PM.. |

Congrats - nice truck, very tasteful mods!
I'm sure this has been discussed on some other threads but what is the factory tint on the rear windows? Did they test it when you had all your windows done? Your backs still look a bit darker than the front. I see you have the OE Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sports - are they original w/ 22k on them?

Looks great!
I've got the same year/color/model as you. It even came from northern CA. I've been contemplating a fill/respray of my license plate holes too - I hate that the prior owner mounted a front plate! |

Nice truck, did you attempt to remove the left rear reflector or is it missing? I attempted to remove them and cracked 1...I had to order a new 1 and have them blacked out

I believe they are the original tires. It was just at the shop for alignment and they said I have about 4-5K left which would bring it to 30K. |

The license plate fill/respray was a must for me. A little expensive but worth it. Most cars in California do have the front plate. I even had to sign a document from the dealer saying that a front plate was provided and mounted. |

Good eyes. I took it to the car wash yesterday, which I never do. I prefer to hand wash my cars. When it was done the rear reflector was missing. I'm not sure how it happened, maybe the pressure washing or high speed blowers. I talked to the manager and they tried to hunt it down but couldn't find it. He told me to find out the cost and they will replace it. Now I'm debating about going with the factory look or replacing it with painted IND reflectors.

I agree with you on the wheels, I'm looking at either the BBS SV or Vossen VFS1 in 22".
The suspension I'm a little up in the air. Although I like the lowered stance, I'm not willing to compromise the ride quality. I think the first thing I need to do is get rid of these run flat tires. |

I love my 215s, I'm a sucker for the OEM look. But, there's too much wheel gap on this car. I dropped it 1.5" with h&r and feel like I should have just shelled out for the coil overs and dropped it 2" with a softer ride. The car looks much much better lowered, and the ride really isn't that bad with h&r, but honestly I feel like I should have just dropped the extra $2000 and dropped it all the way with the coilover suspension. The car looks awesome dropped.

Not sure about NORCAL but I had to, and I have the same vehicle (2012 M Sport). I had a body shop do it. If you don't have an M Sport you shouldn't need to remove the bumper due to different foglight/bumper configuration.
