Which Springs
To people WITHOUT SELF LEVELING SUSPENSION
What springs do you recomend? Does anyone have pics with 2.0 lowering or does 1.2 lowering is enough for a good look? It is a daily driver, so I dont want a bouncy ride, but want to improve looks. |

Tough question 2" looks fantastic but probably a ridiculously harsh ride height. Would I like it lower yes but in Chicago it would only lead to problems! I did 1.2 and love it compared to stock. With hard oem runflats and a 2" drop =

Have you considered DINAN OP? It's not always about how low of a drop. H&R makes good products, but there are many times where the spring is measured in a vehicle and if its same size and dimension they may sell for another vehicle that may not be ideal for your car.

How was the ride? I have the 21s on mine and am worried that the ride will be too harsh with the h&r springs....some guys were saying it would be too harsh if you used anything but the kw v3.

I have had 2 H&R spring sets on both my E70 3.0 and my X5M now currently and have 0 issues with ride quality in Chicago and wound put 3k into something else on a heart beat! I'm 36 with a 2 year old son and it's perfectly fine! Of course there is a slight sacrifice but fully acceptable in my opinion, if you do have the rear air bags on your X5 and need the lowering link kit, there can be a bit of trick In getting the right rear ride height but obviously it can be figured out as I had it done. First time after instal rear was too low and very bouncy then after adjustment it was good.

I have had oem 21" with runflats, oem 20" with runflats both with stock size tires & custom 22" non runflats with 295 front and 335 rear widths all with no problems. Yes runflats are stiffer but also never really bothered me personally. For most it's piece of mind unless you have a spare tire kit which I never have on either or my E70's.

I have Eibach on my 13 3.5 non self level.
Softer than stock IMO and minimal drop.

A little background and specs of my car.
2013 X5 3.5i/Premium/Non 3rd Row so I have springs on all 4 corners/OEM Style 215 21" Wheels with Dunlop RFT Had Eibach kit installed for a little over a month. Initial impressions were softer than OEM (keep in mind I have 21" wheels and RFTs) and car was more responsive in turns. Little bit more confidence when taking highway off ramps but still not an M3... Still need to complete an alignment as I was still waiting for the springs to settle. Overall, I'm satisfied with ride comfort and handling. Wish it was a little lower, like the H&R kit but I didn't want to sacrafice comfort for looks. Mike
