Updating All Modules to Latest Firmware and Coding Options
Is this an easy task? Nothing has been updated on my 2013 N55, so there's some issues, specially with bluetooth and the transmission where it doesn't downshift like it does on my F30, you really have to step on it. It sucks when you live in the mountains. Car is rock solid though, but would also love to know my coding options
Thanks! |

Look here
https://www.xbimmers.com/forums/show....php?t=1516393 After all that, then you code My personal opinion is that you ask the dealer to update the iLevel (Bluetooth gets updated) then you do the maps. |

It is not easy. Best practice is to do all the modules at the same time. That ensures compatibility. The issue is the CIC module (and possibly others) requires an ICOM interface to complete the update. A large power supply is also required as the update can take many hours.
Call around and ask the dealer what they charge. Some will only charge an hour of labor for full update. You can do a minor bluetooth update with software from here. https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html |

Did you ever have the software update performed? I'm in need of an update also.
I have had some coding done that I assume will be wiped out - but I've also had XMSirius activated and the maps upgraded to the 2018 version - will they be wiped out as well? Thanks guys. |

If a specific module gets updated then you loose the coding. If it’s uptodate, no problem. There shouldn’t be any trouble with sirius nor the maps
My dealer charges me 1h to update the car |

Is there any update specific thread talking about modules and dates of update? I'd like to see if anyone knows what modules should really be updated - ie: transmission or engine if there are any? My maps and BT are already fully updated, now just thinking of the drive-train specific modules.
