Question 2011 X6 5.0 - Deal Check

Hey guys,

I moved from Canada to Texas. I just signed up for a:

2011 X6 5.0
Premium Package
Premium Audio
Rear Climate Control Package
Comfort Access
Rear View Camera
Smartphone integration
36 Month
12000 miles / year

With $7000 cash outlay (security deposit, first and last etc), I will be paying $994 / month (all in, including taxes).

Being new to Texas - how is this deal? I don't know the tax rate and how it is handled in the lease in the US.

Thanks.

Seems a little high to me at first glance.

To properly evaluate it it though, you need to know the following:
1) MSRP
2) Selling Price (Cap Cost)
3) MOney Factor used (dealer may have marked up BMW's rate)
4) Residual
5) Breakdown of upfront money (how much is cap cost reduction etc. / Are you using MSDs?)

MSRP should be: $74,625
Negotiated price inc. MACO, training and doc fees say 72,500
Lease Acquisition Fee: 725
Base MF: 0.0019
Residual Value 62%
Tax rate 6%
With 0 down your payment would be $1,034.39
With 6k down, your payment would be $845.65 (keeping 1k out for your first payment)

This is all hypothetical as we don't know the deal that was offered, but it should get you a rough estimate of where your payment should be.

If you're going to be putting that much down, you should look into multiple security deposits. This will buy down your MF and you get the money back at the end of the lease. If this is your first lease with BMWFS, you may have to put a security deposit down, but we had it waived on our first one so I know it can be done.

If you can give more details, you will get all the advice you need here.

THanks.

MSRP $74,625
Selling Price $71,500
Doc Fee $100
Acquisition fee $925
License Fee $59.80
Tax rate = 6.25% (Texas taxes to the whole car not just the leased portion)
Cap Tax = $4611.75
Gross Cap Cost = $72,430

MF = 0.0023
Residual = 62%
12000 Miles / 36 months

Money Down = $7000
Security Deposit = ($1000)
Advance Payment = ($994.95)
Total Cap Reduction = ($4771.00)
Upfront Charges = ($234.05)

Monthly Payment = $994.95

What threw me off was how Texas handles the taxes.

I am a good customer of BMWFS so I will ask for there to be no security deposit.

THanks.
