Help with staggered tire sizes on 24" rims

Newbie here!

Hi All,

Glad to be a part of this forum. I've visited plenty of times for advice on other topics and its been a great source of information and I want to thank all of you for your thoughts, suggestions and opinions.

With that said I own a 2013 BMW X6M (alpine white/black) in late July of 2015 as a birthday present to myself and I've done some improvements since then. Like the grill, clear side markers, and black Aluminum Flywheel interior trim. The latest is I've custom ordered some 24" wheels (staggered-24x10F/24x11R) in which I'm having a bit of a problem searching for tires that will fit (staggered) without damaging the AWD system on the car and rubbing while turning.

I've seen X6M's online with 24's but was unsuccessful determining their tire sizes, any help would be greatly appreciated! So I've gone to a local tire shop and they suggested 255/30R24 on the front and 275/25/R24 on the rears. Does anyone here currently have 24's or know if this fitment will work without damaging the AWD and prevent rubbing while turning?

Thanks and Best Regards!

That's hecktick.
They recommend 22" max for x6/x5 so that way u can get them wide as fuck. And avoid rubbing and any other issue. Plus wide tire/rim gives it that distinctive look from the back.

I believe it's 195 in the front n 314 in the back stock on my 2015 x6. U can get them even wider than that I'm sure... The stock rim and tire combo on your x6m had these figures no ?

Any ways would putting spacers make the rubbing issue worse or would it help?

Garage List
2013 X6M  [0.00]
Stock X6M 2013 came with 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20 rear. Recommended largest size is a 22" rim with 295/30/22 front and 335/25/22 rear as max tire size. This is the set up I run on my 2013 X6M. This keeps the overall rolling circumference the same as factory. If you went to a 24" rim tires size would need to be the same or as close to stock rolling circumference. I would think you are going to greatly sacrifice ride quality going to a 24" 255/30/24 you are losing 2" of the sidewall so your sidewall will be approx 2.5" compared to 4.3" stock. That size tire will give you 1.2% difference in circumference so not a big deal. Fitment will depend on wheel offset as well. You can go tacomaworld and play with the tire calculator to see the difference.

24s are way too big for X6. Im running the same setup as denaliman with the addition of spacers. With 24s, your tires are going to be rubber band thin and your ride quality will suffer big time. Take a look at some of the X6s here running 22s, you might like what you see.
