*Update - See my latest post today, 11/28.

I called my dealer to ask about the injector recall, and they told me that there is no recall but that there is only an extended warranty for 10 years/120k miles. So it sounds like I have to be experiencing issues to get the injectors replaced. Does anyone know why I am being told that there is no recall and only an extended warranty? I called BMW USA and was told the same thing.

It's not a recall, just a TSB. They'll replace it as long as it's below index 10 or 11 I believe. I forgot the exact number. It's also covered under extended warranty so nothing out of pocket including free loaner. I just got mine replaced a few months ago.

Thanks. Dealer said they weren't aware of the TSB. Does anyone have a copy? To confirm, this would be for the X5/X6M.

So after my vehicle was at the dealer all day my SA told me tonight that they checked the injectors and have to talk to the "BMW technical service department" tomorrow to see if the injectors are good or need replacement. I know for a fact that my injectors are index 08 (I checked them myself), and I thought that anything lower than index 11 get replaced. Anyone have any idea whether my SA's claim is legit and what my chances are of getting approval from BMW for replacement?

Just got these replaced at Sterling BMW. Was hoping I would notice a difference in performance, but haven't. Time for a tune!

Yep, free of charge under the recall. Gas mileage went up about 3-4 mpg, but that's the only real difference I've noticed. At least I don't have to worry about them crapping out anymore (hopefully).
