Is will X5 Rear Suspension fit on X6

HELP!

I have just bought a 2009 X6 35d and hit has been hit on the rear wheel which has bent the rear suspension leg forwards. I can buy a suspension leg from an X5 from a bmw specialist break who tells me they are the same? Is this true? Any ideas anyone.

Don't be cheap. Need I give you more of an explanation?

This is a part that you will be riding on every time you are inside the car. If it was a head rest, sure use whatever fits. But this is something that will determine the ride/handling of your car. Which by the way is completely different from an X5. The two have a different wheelbase and width.
