To bad this recall only covers index < 10 my injectors are index 12 and have failed in bank 1 ... I'm sure bank 2 is on its way out as well.
My SA told me about this recall a few months ago when I dropped the truck off for an oil change ... told me I was covered under this and they were going to look at it then called me the next day and said it wasn't |

I had my friend check again and my truck's status changed from "pending" to "due" for the injector replacement. I'm dropping off next Friday for him to replace.

I have already had one of our X5M done under this Service Action. You do not need the letter, just call your service guys and bring the X5M in. They will use a boroscope to inspect and if you qualify they will get replaced. Pretty simple, we even got a loaner car for the inconvenience.

Got tired of waiting, but long story short I went to BMW of Seattle and they've scheduled me a service loaner and free replacement injectors. I've already paid outta pocket for mine, but I'll explain after the fact.

Got an appointment on my 13 to replace all on Wed. The service manager automatically scheduled me with a loaner. I thought they would want to check the index first but I guess they are planning on replacing all. We will see what happens.

Got service appointment for feb 10th with loaner provided. For those that have tunes, are you returning to stock for injector replacement?

Got impatient and dropped mine off tonight without a loaner. He said they are going to check the index tomorrow and replace them if they are not the correct index. I guess I'll see what happens and update after.

I just called my SA and was told to drop the truck off next Monday to replace injectors...we'll see what happens when they realize the truck is tuned and scares everybody at the dealership when they start it
Those of you waiting for letters, call your SA and make an appointment...I was told all stealerships have injectors on hand Last edited by Cattivo; 02-01-2016 at 06:09 PM.. |

I'm picking my car up tomorrow, all injectors and spark plugs replaced. I don't think spark plugs are normally replaced, but SA said they looked like they were need so they threw those in for free (I am out of warranty).
I have a tune on my car and the dealership did not mention anything about it when doing to service. |

Brand new to this site and forum. Wanted my first post to be here to thank whoever started this thread because I would not have known otherwise to ask for the injectors to be replaced. Dropped my '13 X5 M off at dealership yesterday for some body work the dealership owed me (long story) and asked bout the injector SA. Now being replaced without an issue.

Just got a call from the dealer. My injectors were perfectly fine and they are the newer style (truck is a 13) but the index was off by one number. Therefore, all injectors are being replaced! They had one bank completely done already and were working on the other one!
Thanks to Creamo3 for informing everyone about this and M5james for uploading a pic of the actual bulletin! Will feel so relieved not having to worry about injectors going bad! Last edited by SakM_5; 02-02-2016 at 01:21 PM.. |

Im going in on the 17th for injectors. The service adviser said after install I will have a warranty on the injectors and fuel pump. Basically sound like the same warranty they did on my 535i. 10/120k Wonder how much they would do spark plugs at the same time?

Not sure if you're out of warranty or not but if I were you I would not let them(stealership) install the plugs...unless you wanna bend over and let them have their way with you, find yourself a good Indy mechanic...new plugs are around $17 each, I was quoted around $800 to change plugs in the 50i from them! I had my mechanic change plugs in the M for under $400

Spark Plugs for $800? Oil change for $170? I feel sorry for all the people that actually just pay this not knowing they are getting rapped. |
