Ive been reading a few 1/3 series forums with guys doing meth. Seems to be a lot of conflicting info regarding flash tunes controlling everything, piggybacks, failsafes, etc... stuff way over my head at the moment. Maybe one of those guys will chime in here or Ill contact them later on. Just gathering knowledge now, still a ways away from implementing any of this stuff.
Yeah definitely hit MHD up for a faster response, they are EXTREMELY truthful and to the point

If I have read everything right, the stage 2 tune will eliminate the CEL and deactivate the monitor so I can pass inspection? ( I believe NJ allows for 1 monitor to be not ready)

Do any of the OTS maps play well with meth injection? I was looking at some of the kits and its possible I go down this route at some point. Or do I need a custom tune for that?

Thanks

All of the OTS Maps by default disable the cat codes that you would get for having a catless downpipe. In NJ you should pass no problem as our method only keeps one monitor not ready for the cats. In terms of a tune... DOn't waste your time looking elsewhere. MHD is the Biz for the N55 and N54.

The OTS Tunes were not created with Methanol injection in mind. So to run meth injection and properly take advantage of the benefits a custom tune would be in order.

As for meth controllers and kits. HFS4 and Snow Performance Stage 3 controllers are stand alone and great controllers. I am actually looking at releasing my own controller in the near future.

Feel free to drop me an email and etc. if you wish to go the custom tune route. or if you have any issues with the OTS maps.

I gotta say, the MHD flasher and tune is an awesome product. I just went to it 2 weeks ago and I am still amazed at how well it works and at an excellent price point.
So reading the last couple of posts it looks like all the OTS tunes disable the Cat monitors? Or just stage 2? Looks like a catless down pipe is in my future.

I went stage 2 and I never went back......

haha still a stocker. stage 2 taper at higher rpms is alot less and timing feels higher at low rpms so easier daily drive as there more response and torque and upper rpms feel alot better as power doesn't fall off. I have some logs, I'll post them soon

Nice I'm very curious on what the logs show, how long have you been running the S2? Any concerns you see in the near future?

I switched my e90 to E30 which is greater than s2 and I'm running e45 fuel. it's fully stock been a few months now and been monitoring. think my coils are starting to get weak so I'll take those out this weekend.but that's 22psi boost

switch s2 on x5 for 2 weeks now. I've been monitoring when I push it on the weekends. gapped down the ngk 95770 plugs from .031 to .02. that made a huge difference. also got rid of some timing corrections. overall wot light to light and daily driving is a good leap over stage 1.

I don't recommend it if you track your car but who is tracking a large x3 35i. it will heat up the cats if you stay high rpms for a very long time. I haven't noticed anything above 1400 on pulls even when constantly bearing on it. iats get up faster too but x5 ic does an ok job.

I'll post a log this weekend.

Tropical weather or cold weather at your area? M on stock too and has been thinking of switching to s2 but worries in the intercooler heat since the weather at my side is hovering around 32 degrees most of the time.

boiling here. Texas. 95f. key is to keep iats under 140f. normally it will be 20 over ambient. if you monitor your car when pushing them hard, then monitor Kate and let it cool down once you get over 140.

Can MHD read and clear codes on an X5M?

Background- I purchased it to tune my old '07 335, but I've sold that car and replaced it with an X5M. I now have the cable and app on my phone. Obviously the tunes aren't applicable, but does it work as a code reader for all BMWs?

EDIT- that's a negative. Just tried thru the diagnostic tab and it says it's an unsupported DME.

I would suggest Carly honestly, that should do the trick for you I believe.

Should work as code reader but not sure if it requires a licence to do so. I think not. But yes like e70'11 mentioned Carly will read all modules or search app store for other apps like torque.

Maybe you should PM twisted tuning or MHD and propose that idea

Numbers for us look really good so I'm sure on an M it'll be a monster

as far as I know.... X5M is not on the list for future support. But I could be wrong. MHD Tuning would be the person to yay or nay that though.
