Dealer allotment

I have been told by a sales lady that, in Canada, dealers are only allotted 2 X6s a month, so they arent going to be offering any sort of deals or price negotiating on them. Anyone else been told this, or know if it is true or not?
Thanks.

So what are people getting for deals on their X6s? I guessing since no one has heard what I'm being told, people must being decent discounts.

well i dont know how the dealers in canada work...but over here i was in a bidding war with 3 other dealers...finally one of them gave me the best price around. I do know there is a low production of the x6 but i dont know if each dealer is limited to just 2. Thats kind of hard to believe. I got the 2011, and the dealer i was at had more than 2 2010 x6's still on the lot. Hope that helps

I was told the same thing but since we are both in Alberta could be from the same dealership?

kassfy,
which dealer did u get urs from?

to the OP,
don't know how canada network work but in here i was told although the production numbers are limited but the factory will produce as many as they can sell. BMW has cut production since last year just meaning they'll have less cars sitting in dealers' lots. but if they have a confirmed order then the supply won't run short.

Just spoke to my BMW dealer in Edmonton here. They get 2 a month. Wheather they sell them or not. He said this is how they keep the X6 exclusive. Hope this helps.

Bavaria or Edmonton? So is it dealership choice to only get 2/mth if they are looking to keep it exclusive? Unfortunately it might mean losing a sale if they arent willing to deal and Vancouver or Calgary dealerships are.

How long ago did you order it? Would they cut you a deal at all? Thanks and congrats on the ride.

I ordered it on April 10th but told them I did not need delivery till June. That is when I hand back my Infiniti.

Not much of a deal I am afraid , however the travel costs back and forth from McMurray can start to add up and so I had to factor in was it worth the time hotel cost etc to save a K or two. Had to bite the bullet. When I am in the city the West End is where I spend more time so that is how I decided on the dealer.

So far so good but that is what I thought of Ericksen Infiniti until it was time to get service.

I am switching to Bavaria b/c the service at Edmonton BMW was pretty poor for me. An oil change took 3 days. I dropped it off on a Tues. morning, my appointment was at 9am, Wed afternoon at 2 they finally got it in the shop, and Thurs. morning they finished at 1130. No loaner car, but it wasnt too, too bad b/c we have a second vehicle. I asked why they wouldnt just reschedule me in for the day they could do it. I was asked "Well what would you rather do, leave it here until it is finished, or pick it up and bring it back in?" I told him obviously come get my car so I am not without wheels for three days. He seemed surprised and told me he would write that down. Hopefully Bavaria is better.

It's my understanding that this is not a dealer choice but BMW's. Also I should note that my buddy who works at Bavaria said 2 a month whether they sold last months 2 or not. So dealers could have around 2-6 X6's on site.

I have been dealing with Bavaria since 2005. They are great. All the oil changes I have had only took 1 working day. I drop off car at 8am and pick it up at 4:30pm. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with there service.

That's awesome I also ordered 50i and live in West End. What colour did you get? I just seen my X6 for the first time yesterday. They just need to PDI & detail it then I am good to go.

I went with the Vermillion Red after much debate with the warden ( wife ) I like black but so hard to keep clean up here.

So jealous ..... I wish I was getting mine sooner.

Also good to hear that you have had good service I have heard the same from others as well.
