Help, purchasing X5
Hello all, I have been visiting this website for the past couple of years and love the amount of useful information available. So for my first post, I would like to ask for some guidance on a 2008 X5 I am going to test drive this afternoon. The car is a certified 4.8l black in black with 18,000 miles, it looks to have all but a couple of options (rear seat entertainment, rear window shades, towing package). They are asking $52,900 for it, what do you all think is a fair price to pay?
I think they are asking too much but I don't see that many this clean and loaded with options. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. |

seems like a lot...did a quick KBB pricing for a CPO in florida, based on what you said, even in excellent condition, the pricing should should only be around $50k. how extensively have you scoured for used auto listings? there was a couple online in florida going for much cheaper, including a black x5 4.8 with 24k miles going for $40k...
bargain hard... |

Drove it this afternoon and this thing was flawless, except for a couple of trim pieces that had paint bubbling/peeling. It was also missing a couple more options the salesman told me were there on the phone.
I loved this beast but I still think $49,900 (their floor) is still too high for a 3 year old X5 no matter how nice. I was not too happy with my trade either, I don't expect kbb value but 2.5k bellow the Audi dealer appraisal was not fair. Took my wife out of their because she liked the car too much and started rooting for the wrong team. let's see what happens on Monday. Hope to Join the club soon. |
