I'd be interested in knowing why you made the switch to the X5d. I did briefly considered the Q5 and the Q7 when shopping for mine but the Q7 was too big and the Q5 did not offer the clean diesel which was most important to me.

Congrats, welcome, and great choice! I switched from an '11 FX35 Sport to the '12 X5 35i Sport, couldn't be happier!

Have the X5 35d for about a month now and love it. installed the LUX and they look great. FYI...got the painted reflectors, but havent installed them yet...looks like it will be a bit more of a challenge to install than my E90.

Why X5
Hi 1HotBMR,
the reason i chose X5 was i wanted to get into a diesel, the Q5 was a great car but i put 65,000 miles on it in under 3 years, i wanted more MPG, if the Q5 had the diesel here like in Europe i would have gone that way, my friend has one in Switzerland and gets 49MPG, crazy, As the choices here are limited, X5, MB, VW Tourag i opted for the X5, but what a wonderful car it is, still getting used to everything though, can't understand why there is NOT a temperature guage anywhere, how do you see the engine temp? that MPG gauge justs goes back and forward all day, a complete waste of time if you ask me. |
