X5 F15 - High Mileage
I've been looking at getting an X5 F15 30D and can't decide if I should get say a 2015/16 model with 70/80k or a 2017/18 model with say 120/130k.
Prices are similar but for example the 17/18 models I've come across have much better optional extras and are generally 1 owner vehicles with FSH. The 15/16 models I've seen sometimes can have 3-4 owners. So the question is, is it too risky to purchase a slightly newer one with 120-130k miles even though its a 1 owner and presumably mainly motorway miles. Or stick to ones with 70/80k but slightly older? I know it's not a straight forward question to answer but hoping some owners can comment on reliability, potential repair costs at said mileages. Thanks in advance |

Wrong question...I would ask the other way round.😉
As per my own experience I would always prefer high mileage and one or two owners - service history always checked, mind you- to a car with less mileage and 4 owners. The last in line tends just to drive it and invest hardly a dime in maintenance 🤔 However, my beast being an E70 40d I cannot tell you what model year is better to go for, others may chime in later. Oh, and to get more and better answers I would recommend to move your thread to the F15 forum |
