Muffler Delete
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone has done muffler delete on their X6? I have a 2012 BMW x6 50i and thinking about doing muffler delete to make the exhaust a little louder…What do you guys think? and if anyone has done it please give me a feedback or post some videos if possible. I have tired to look up youtube and other threads and haven't seen anyone except X6m has done the muffler delete. Thanks! Frank |

Yeah, I am on the same page.. no one tried but there is from M5 F10, basically same engine but different exhaust design. M5 has X pipe from factory while X5M/X5M e70 dont have it. So I am thinking to do same on my X5M. Putting an X pipe and full straight pipes to out. It has decatted downpipes already. Loud for sure!

Yeh I was thinking about doing straight pipe as well but I think it might be too loud…
For now I am just thinking about doing the muffler delete and if I don't like it then I'll do x pipe and straight pipe. But just wanted to know if anyone in the forum has done it and just wanted to hear their feedback. Do you know what would muffler delete cost and the average time to do it? |

Hey! I done muffler delete on my 35i and its noticeably louder but there is a enormous amount of drone. So i ended up putting smaller mufflers on and it did the trick. Muffler delete will be much louder but too much drone for me

My x6 was basically straight piped for a VERY short period of time. It was extremely loud! I ended up putting the stock muffler back on and now its not so bad. I don't think removing just the muffler would be too bad since you are still utilizing all of the stock cats and the resonator that is in the mid pipe

If you decide to do a muffler delete keep your resonators installed. Do not cut them out otherwise you will have excessive DRONE! With the resonators in you might find that its livable.
One thing you will like is being able to really hear the turbos spin. Cost should be around 350-450 to delete the muffler depending on your muffler shop and how much they value their time. Post a video when you are done.

I went to a shop and he said the muffler delete will be around $200-$400. still thinking if I want it to do it. will the exhaust sound be a little deeper as well? how long will it take to do it? maybe couple of hours? the shop said that they would need to make custom pipes to install it
